A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
